The main reason BOV's are added to road cars in production is to stop the annoying noise as the tip airflow at the compressor blades goes supersonic, against a closed plenum throttle valve." Sorry, but someone fed you a load of crap here. BOV's relieve compressor surge. This eliminates shocking the thrust bearings and helps maintain compressor spool. I fail to see how BOV's reduce any of this supersonic noise you speak of...its not a muffler. Don't you realize people buy BOV's because of the noise they create? If people got wind that BOV's decrease any kind of noise they would stop buying them. Damn talk about a disaster for the economy....
